OFFICER DUTIES
The GPSS Officers, elected by the Senate, are the caretakers of the Graduate & Professional Student Senate. The Officers are responsible for setting GPSS goals and implementing specific actions based on the directives of the Senate. Officers are expected to communicate GPSS activities to the Senate, University administrators, University faculty and the community at large.

2007 - 2008 OFFICERS
President - Jake Faleschini
Jake Faleschini is a concurrent degree student in Law and International Studies. He is in the third year of his J.D. at the School of Law and the second year of his M.A.I.S. at the Jackson School. Jake is focusing his graduate studies on international criminal law. After high school Jake spent a number of years traveling and working over seas. After returning to the US, he got a B.A. in International and Comparative Policy Studies at Reed College in Portland, Or. After college, he spent two years working for the New York State Attorney General's Office, prosecuting white collar and organized crime. While in graduate school he has clerked with the United States Attorney's Office in Seattle, the Honorable Judge Mertel, the Innocence Project Northwest Clinic, and the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. He hopes to work as a district attorney for a few years after graduating, and then go on to do international criminal prosecution and criminal law reform. Jake has been named a Next Generation Leader by the American Constitution Society, a leading progressive legal organization. Jake enjoys backpacking, snowboarding, squash, and coaching lacrosse at Lakeside Middle School.

Vice President - Dave Iseminger
Dave Iseminger is a concurrent degree in his fourth year of studies pursing a law degree and a masters in public health genetics from UW. He is a 2005 graduate of the University of Rochester (NY) where he earned a bachelor of science degree in molecular genetics, a minor in political science, and was a Take 5 Scholar studying mythical literature.
During his graduate studies Dave has work at several federal and state government agencies. He first worked for the U.S. Department of Labor's Employee Benefit and Security Administration in the summer after his first year of law school and then externed in the Consumer Protection division of Washington Attorney General's office. Following his second year of studies, Dave clerked for the Attorney General's office in the University of Washington division and continued to work there throughout his third year of graduate school. Most recently, he clerked in the Attorney General's Social & Health Services Mental Health Services division in Olympia.
Dave is extremely committed to community service at both the University and City level. He has served on several University and Law school faculty committees, been the Secretary of the law school's student bar association, a managing editor of the Pacific Rim Law & Policy Journal, and active in GPSS for the past 2 years completely overhauling the organization's bylaws. Dave is a commissioner on the Seattle Commission for Sexual Minorities and volunteers with Lifelong Aids Alliance.
During the 2008-2009 academic year, Dave will work with the graduate and professional student community and elected officials in Olympia on important issues such as the funding of childcare and mental health services, school safety, and tuition setting authority.

Treasurer - Danielle Magnusson
Danielle Magnusson, henceforth addressed as D-Mag, once sold her left foot for a beer. Then she killed the guy who bought it, stole her foot back, and used it to buy another one. D-Mag wins at life.

Secretary - Yutaka Jono
Yutaka Jono is in his fifth year as a PhD student in The School of Music. His interests include Schenkerian theory and minimalist music. He plays classical and electric guitar, and also sings in the UW student acappella group Unleashed. He was on the Student Board of FIUTS (Foundation for International Understanding Through Students) for two years, and is excited to make use of this experience in GPSS.
He received his undergraduate double degree (Diplomacy and World Affairs, and Music) from Occidental College, and his two MA degrees (Politics and Music) from Claremont Graduate University.

Special Assistant to the President
- Savannah Baltera
Savannah is a second year graduate student in the School of Music, receiving her Master’s in Vocal Performance. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Oregon State University in Music. This is Savannah’s second year working for GPSS. She is excited to continue her work in her extended role as the GPSS Event Planner. GPSS is hoping to put on more events this year including, speed dating, Day at the Mariners and a Seahawks game! In her free time Savannah enjoys shopping, going out for coffee, opera, and hanging out with her husband.

Rob Muilenberg is an undergraduate working towards a double major in Political Science and Economics. His last job was as a greens keeper at a local country club, so he is enjoying his new chance to “make a difference” with GPSS. He sits on the Board of Directors for Affordable Tuition Now as the Vice Chair. His interests include Trivial Pursuit, Jeopardy, crossword puzzles, television, fine cuisine, and of course, Husky Sports.

Office Manager
- Jason Ly
Jason worked last year as an Administrative Assistant to the ASUW Board, and this year he moved up the ranks to GPSS. Currently, he is in his fourth and last year of undergrad studying Public Health and American Ethnic Studies. His activities include advising ASUW Leaders, as well as being the Vice-President for the Khmer Student Association. He enjoys tennis, coffee, medical dramas, the 80's, happy hours, dancing, and different languages and cultures.

Resources Assistant
- Jamie Andrus
Jamie is a second year graduate student in the Department of Linguistics, working toward a Master's in Sociophonetics. She earned Bachelor's degrees in Linguistics and Scandinavian Area Studies from the UW in 2005. In her spare time, if such a thing exists, she enjoys knitting, television, trying to speak Norwegian, and spending quality time with her fiancé.

Kelly is a recent graduate of the University of Illinois College of Law and currently a first year Ph.D. student in Political Science. She enjoys tea, running, and international adventures.
